About Analyst Reports
GuideStar Analyst Reports offer detailed analyses of individual public charities. With the aid of illustrations and narrative content, the reports present clear pictures of all nonprofits you select. GuideStar Analyst Reports are perfect for research, benchmarking, due diligence, sector scans, and reporting.
Every GuideStar Analyst Report provides a summary of a specific charity's financial performance in the most recent fiscal year. All financial information is taken from the nonprofit's IRS Form 990. Easy-to-read graphs and charts summarize the charity's revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities. You'll also see ratios for fundraising, contributions, programs, debt, and investment income.
Each GuideStar Analyst Report also provides a historical snapshot of the charity's performance, based on the most complete, accurate, and current financial information available anywhere. The snapshot shows important trends in income, assets, and expenses, allowing you to gauge an the nonprofit's performance over time.

Peer-group comparisons are an integral part of each report. Compare an charity with:
1. Organizations with the same NTEE (National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities) Code throughout theUnited States; and
2. 501(c)(3) organizations within a 25-mile radius.
GuideStar Analyst Reports are currently available for more than 200,000 public charities, and more are being added every day. Financial information is taken from the IRS Forms 990 filed annually by public charities with gross receipts greater than $100,000. GuideStar Analyst Reports are not offered for nonprofits that file Forms 990-EZ or 990-PF, nor for those that do not file a 990.
To find out if an Analyst Report is available for a specific charity, go to that organization's GuideStar Report. An asterisk next to the Analyst Report link indicates that a report can be run. At least two consecutive years of an organization's IRS Forms 990 are needed to generate an Analyst Report.
GuideStar Analyst Reports are available by daily, monthly, or annual subscriptions and are delivered in PDF files. As a subscriber, you can produce an unlimited number of reports.
