Frequently Asked Questions

Subscription Billing FAQs

Answers:

1. What does auto renew mean?

In order to ensure that you have uninterrupted access to your GuideStar services, all GuideStar subscriptions automatically renew at the end of the initial term (including annual and monthly Premium subscriptions). Your subscription will automatically renew indefinitely, without prior notice to you, unless and until you cancel your subscription.

2. How will I be charged?

Each subscription will automatically renew to the original credit card used to make the purchase. This process allows you to bill each subscription to a separate credit card for increased flexibility in tracking expenses.

3. My credit card expires before my subscription is set to renew. How do I update my credit card information to ensure I can continue to access to my subscription?

Log on to GuideStar, click the My GuideStar link located at the top of the page, then click Manage my subscriptions. You will see a complete listing of your subscriptions, including their order numbers (for ease of expensing), renewal dates, the last 4 digits of the credit card used to purchase them, and more. Locate the appropriate subscription and then click Change payment. You will then be taken to a page that will allow you to update your credit card information. After you update, click Save. Your new credit card information will then be billed on the renewal date. To change the credit card associated with multiple services, you must repeat these steps for each subscription.

4. When will my subscription renew?

Your renewal date for any subscription can be found by going to My GuideStar and selecting Manage my subscriptions.

Annual subscriptions will be billed to your credit card at approximately 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time, the same day the following year. For example, if you purchase a subscription on January 1, 2008, it will renew at approximately 11:30 p.m. ET on January 1, 2009.

Monthly subscriptions will be billed to your credit card at approximately 11:30 p.m. ET, on the same day of the following month*. For example, subscriptions purchased on March 15, 2008, will renew at approximately 11:30 p.m. ET on April 15, 2008.

*Please note that subscriptions purchased on the last day of a 31-day month will renew on the last day of the following month.

5. How do I turn off auto renew?

Once you have logged in to GuideStar, click the My GuideStar link located at the top of the page, then click Manage my subscriptions. You will see a complete listing of your subscriptions, including their renewal dates, the last 4 digits of the credit card used to purchase them, and more. Locate the appropriate subscription, then click Stop renewal. You will then be taken to a page with a brief survey. Your participation in this survey is optional. You MUST, however, click the Stop renewal button on the survey page to complete the process. To stop renewals on multiple services, you must repeat these steps for each subscription.

6. If I change my renewal status before the renewal date, will I still have access to my subscription?

Yes. You will be able to continue to access your subscription until 11:50 p.m. ET on your renewal date.

7. I did not wish to renew my subscription and I was charged. Am I eligible for a refund?

If your subscription automatically renews, unfortunately you are not eligible to receive a refund. As stated in the license agreement, all GuideStar subscription services automatically renew until stopped by the account holder.
